Spoon and Bowl Swage

Antique Swage Table

Spoon and Bowl Swage Block:

This block was probably made and sold for silversmiths, coppersmiths or other non-ferrous metalworker and would have had highly polished work surfaces. From a design standpoint there is a lot of wasted space on this block by using only one side. The same impressions could be put onto a block with less than half mass. Even more impressions could be applied if the edges were used. However, for convenience you can't beat a single sided block.
